Just a Little Update

So let me start out by saying that I am now committing to updating this blog more often, but there is one problem I have lost our camera. It has everything from Christmas to Megan's 9th birthday on it. So there are not pic for this post (boring I know).
On with the update.
We are still living with Wayne's parents, but are steadily searching for a new home. Wayne is still enjoying his stress free job with Ferrari Color. He also had his first desert race of the year in Mesquite, NV. He was only able to do one lap when his clutch died. It was just not good...not good at all.

I was working at Anchor Blue in the University Mall, but the company has closed down and I am now right where I should be at home with my babies. I am enjoying being with the kids and doing all the house hold stuff that I totally despised before. You never know how good you have it until you loose it. I have also been called to be a laurel's adviser in church and I am really enjoying that.

Megan turned 9 on the 10th of January and decided on a scrapbook themed party. She had some school friends come as well as her cousins. She is doing great in school and has been asked to be the teachers assistant in helping the other students in her class understand what is being taught. Wayne and I couldn't be prouder. She is also starting to develop her own sense of style. For the most part I have loved it, but there are times that I have wondered.

Kaitlyn is still her silly outgoing self. She is still constantly making us laugh. She is counting down the days til her baptism and getting her ears pierced in October. She is also doing very well in school and is very excited for summer vacation.

Our little man Ty is getting bigger and bigger every day. He is still very in love with dirt bikes and asks on a regular basis when he will be getting one of his own. He also has a new found love for playing the xbox (although at this moment it is broken). He lets us know on a regular basis that he "loves us so much" and Wayne and I are powerless against it, and I think sometimes Ty knows this.

All in all we are doing really well. We look forward spending more time together doing fun family things. Hopefully I can find our camera and add some pictures to future posts.

Jack-O-lanterns

While visiting the store yesterday Megan noticed that the pumpkins were only $1.98 so without hesitation she asked if her and Kaitlyn and Ty could buy their Halloween pumpkins. I told her yes, but that we would have to come back because we were running late and needed to get to their Aunt Brynn's house. After 6 hours of playing with cousins we made it back Wal-Mart where they all picked out a pumpkin.
So the next day Megan's first question out of her sweet little mouth was..."can we carve our pumpkins now?" I told her later and when later came she asked if she could get them out of the car in the pouring rain. With permission she headed out in the rain and brought all three pumpkins into the house. They then took a pen and drew their faces on the pumpkins. I came up stairs and started the process of cutting the pumpkins when Wayne (the pro) took over. I took pictures of all the fun keeping my hands nice and clean, until it came to gutting Ty's pumpkin.megan's jack o lanternKaitlyn's Jack o lantern Wayne cut the top off and we told Ty to start pulling out the seeds and stuff and he wouldn't go near it. He said it smelled bad and it was gross. We tried everything to get him to just try to pull some of it out, but he stuck to his guns and wouldn't do it. Ty's jack o lanternmmmmm yummyout of the pumpkin jack o lanternnot sure which of my kids took this pic, but it is super cuteAs I started gutting the pumpkins Wayne the pro carver started cutting out the faces the kids had drawn. All in all it was some fun family time.

My Baby turned 4!

Well my baby boy turned 4 on October 17th. Ty has become my sweet little buddy who is always by my side. This was the first year that Ty had a party close to all his family. He asked for a dirt bike birthday cake and well it isn't exactly easy to find a store that makes a dirt bike birthday cake, so I took matters into my own hands and made one from scrap. The day started with Ty waking up a little grumpy and not wanting to be messed with. After much persuasion I finally managed to get him into a happy mood. We had breakfast and began getting ready for church. At church Ty stayed by my side nearly the whole time. All day long he reminded me that he was the birthday boy. After church we came home had some dinner we broke out the birthday cake and ice cream. After ice cream and cake Ty was able to open his gifts with his family, cousins, and grandparents watching.
Some of my favorite things about Ty:
His smile
His baby blue eyes
His laugh
When he wakes me up in the middle of the night and crawls in bed with us
His love for his sisters
His love for anything dirt bike and Halo
His hugs and kisses
His need to get dressed as soon as he wakes up
When he calls me his booshe (the nickname he gave me, not sure what it means)
When he calls me baby
His Loves
I can't imagine my life without my baby boy. I look forward to watching him grow in to a wonderful man like his father. I am excited to see what the future brings in raising a boy, but for right now I am enjoying the heck out of my little guy.

Salon + Tutu's = A Happy Birthday!!!

On October 15th my sweet baby girl Kaitlyn turned 7! I told her this year she could choose between a regular friend and family birthday party or she could invite some friends and we would go get their hair done and go to lunch and get pictures taken. Like the smart girl she is she told me "I would like both" I told her one or the other. She picked the day out with friends. What most people don't know is that Kaitlyn has a twin! Okay not really, but pretty close. Kaitlyn has a cousin who was born the same day at the same hospital in the next room an hour and 20 minutes after her. Her name is Kayla Wright and so her mother and I decided to make this day a special day for both girls who haven't celebrated their birthday's together since they were 2 years old. The day started bright and early at 8:30 in the morning. Each girl had a tutu made to wear for the day, so with tutu's in hand we loaded up in the van and headed out to pick up Kayla, Audra and Myllie. With all five girls in the van the excitement was bursting at the seams. We ended up at the Aveda ( I think that is how it's spelled) hair school in Provo. Each girl was assigned at stylist and was taken in the back and the fun began. Each girl told the stylist how they wanted their hair and for the most part they sat and watched the stylist do their magic, except for my sweet niece Myllie who carried on a conversation with her stylist from start to finish.

After the hair was done the stylist took the girls to another room and painted their finger nails. But they didn't just paint their nails they painted flowers and added jewels too. Then it was off to another room where they got a little lip gloss, blush, and light eye shadow. To say the least the girls just ate it up and I am not just talking about Kaitlyn and her cousins.
After Aveda we went to get pics taken at Kiddie Kandids, but they were super busy and couldn't get us in for a few hours, so we went to Sears and again they couldn't get us in either. My sis in law Audra has a talented friend and with one phone call set up a time and place to get pictures taken. We then went to lunch a Pirate Island where the girls played and won tickets to get prizes. We munched on yummy (but super greasy pizza) and a birthday cake that I stayed up decorating til 1 in the morning. After pizza and cake the girls opened up their gifts and played some more. Next we headed to Salem pond where Jenny our photographer met us and took some adorable pics of the girls. I think over all it was a successful day!

Happy Birthday to my amazing, sweet, funny girl. Your dad and love you and are blessed to have you in our lives.

Trying something new

So I decided that I need to try something new, and since Kaitlyn and Ty's birthdays were coming up I thought I would try to make an actual cool cake with fondant and everything. I new that regular fondant is kind of... no really gross. So I searched on the Internet for any other kind of fondant and found a cool spider man cake and to my amazement the cake was made out of marshmallow fondant. I decided that I would do a practice run first and see if it was even possible. So here is my first and only attempt.

I think it turned out pretty good. I even played around with color. Unfortunately the kids did not like the taste of the marshmallow fondant either which is why it has been my one and only attempt. I did however learn something new yay me!

1st and 3rd here we come!!!

So Megan and Kaitlyn started school on the 24th of August. Megan is in 3rd grade this year and her teacher is Ms. Thurber and Kaitlyn is in 1st grade and her teacher is Mrs. Osbourn.
The morning started out with the girls waking up bright and early at 7:00 am (thirty minutes before they needed too.) They had picked out their outfits weeks before and looked so cute . They gave their first day of school hair do requests and picked out their breakfast. Because we live in the country the girls get to ride the bus to school, so I took pictures of the girls while waiting for the bus. This is a picture of the whole crew waiting for the bus to come. Left to right: Kaitlyn, Megan, Courtney, Carson and Lyndsay.Ty even got in on all the school action. He picked out his outfit on his own and even wore is new backpack just like the big kids. I think out of all my kids he is diffenently the most ready to start school. It's just to bad he has to wait one more year.
