Ouch!!!

This is what happens when a two year old misses the second step on the way into the house. I think this was the first time that Ty was nearly inconsolable. He was trying to hold Tink and barely missed the second step in the garage. He hit his chin and bit his lip. This picture was taken the day after. Although he could barely talk he still found a way to suck on his binky.

The Zoo

After spending a week in St. George for our family reunion we came home for a day and a half and then we were off again. We went to Santaquin to see my family and also to go to the Spanish Fork rodeo. While Wayne's visit was mostly for work (he had to go to Vernal ) the kids and I were there for more fun. On Monday Wayne left for Vernal the kids and I went to the Hogle Zoo. I was Kaitlyn and Ty's first time and Megan's second (although it might as well been her first, she doesn't remember the last time). It was almost the perfect day to go. It was very overcast and cool, if it wasn't for the humidity it would have perfect. My sister Karri loves the zoo and thank goodness she does cause without her we would have had no way of getting there. She was also our personal tour guide. We started out with the monkeys and Megan and Kaitlyn were so excited to see a real live monkey. Ty wasn't as excited at first because the monkeys had to move before he could see them. As soon as the did he was growling and screaming at them. Then we moved on to the other animals. Kaitlyn was very adamant about making sure we saw the giraffes and megan the bears. Ty loved any animal that moved.
To finish the day off we took the Hogle Zoo train. We had a great time and hope that daddy can come next time and thank Aunt Karri for being our transportation and tour guide for the day

The Reaves Family Reunion

We just got back from the 1st annual Reaves Family Reunion. We had a blast with our aunts, uncles, cousins, and in-laws. We rented a 5 bedroom house at Entrada in St. George. It was absolutely beautiful. In all there was 12 kids and 9 adults. Surprisingly there was little to no fighting between the kids. Wayne's brother in-law Linn set up an itinerary for the week which consisted of family morning workouts, pool time and talent night. Wayne and I spent most of the time with the Ty and the girls at the pool. It was sooo hot that the pool was really nice. We have all come home with fabulous tans. On Wed. night all the women got to have a G.N.O (girls night out). We decide to go out for dinner at Samurai 21 and do a little shopping. It is always nice to get out and have grown up conversations. Our last night there was spent having a family talent show. Our talent was to sing a Hannah Montana song. I think we did pretty well even though the trophy went to Wayne's parents. I even got Wayne to sing and he new most of the song. I guess that's what you get when you have two little girls that love Hannah Montana.

We had a wonderful time visting and playing with family. We want to thank Linn and Audra for putting it all together, and tell Scott and Kim that we missed them. Next year could not come any sooner.

The Terrible Twos (maybe)?

I don't know what is going on with Ty but he must be entering the "terrible twos" 4 months early. In my attempt to get the house clean today for the arrival of Wayne's sister Lori and her family I guess I was not multi tasking like I should of because one day after the finger nail polish disaster Ty found something else to paint his body with. Thank goodness it was just on him this time. At this rate I don't know if I will survive my last bout with the terrible twos.

Nail Polish Anyone?

Well today is one of those days that I thought that Ty would not make it to his second birthday. To give a little background I was shopping online for the girls school clothes when Megan comes running out of my room yelling "Tyson's in the fingernail polish and he got some on the floor". Thinking that maybe he just got into it and that he drew on the floor with the the brush I wasn't to worried ( I just bought a 8 oz bottle of remover). When I turned the corner to see what he had done red was all I saw (literally he gt into the red polish). He had dumped out the whole bottle and then decided to walk in it and proceed to walk all around the bathroom. He also used the paint brush to paint his stomach, face, and hands. It took me cleaning the floor, his stomach and hands before I was calm enough to think it was kind of funny and that he thought it was great what he had done. I ran and got the camera and this is what he looked like after most of the disaster was cleaned up.

Happy Birthday Wayne/ A Day in the Park

Yesterday was Wayne's 35th birthday! The one and only thing he asked for was to be able to go to Nevada for a dirt bike race. So Wayne spent the day playing in the dirt ( more like son like father) He also requested no cake. This is not like Wayne because he only gets his favorite made from scratch german chocolate cake twice a year, but he went healthy on me and requested a watermelon instead.

While Wayne was playing in the Nevada dirt, Janara and I took the kids to the canyon park. They all loved playing in the water even though it was freezing cold. It took Ty and Ashlyn a little longer to get use to the running water and the temperature. Within 5-8 minutes they were walking in the steam and playing like the big kids (still holding mommy's hand).
The water was only fun for so long. They started to venture out a little more and when the playground ended up being to hot to play on they decided to play in the sand (volleyball court). They were making sand castles and having fun until Megan found a small corner of the court that had a small puddle of water. Then all you know what broke loose! Mud fights started between the older kids and then Ty and Ashlyn decide that it would be more fun to swim in the puddle and proceeded to sit and roll and cover themselves up in muddy, sandy water.
Janara and I were sure that their clothes were not going to recover from this, but I am happy to say that after rinsing them off in the stream they are fine. It was a big job for both of us to try and get the sand off of Ty and Ashlyn. Janara took the gentle approach and used wipes. I took the quick approach and striped Ty down to a diaper and dipped him in to the stream. He didn't like that to much, but when I asked him if it was fun he nodded his head up and down as if to say "yes".
It was great having Janara and her family down this weekend. The kids all play so well together. I hope this is the first of many 4th of July's together.

4th of July!

We love the 4th of July! It has always been remembered as one of those great summer nights with good food, great friends, and fireworks. Now I think it means a little more. Wayne and I both have brothers in the military. Scott serves in the Air force and my brother Erik is in the Army. Scott has been on two tours and Erik has been on his tour for over a year now. I also have a brother-in-law in the Air force and one in the Navy. With such close relations serving in the military risking their lives to fight for mine and my children's freedom and rights this fourth will always be remembered with much more significance and gratitude.

Wayne and I took the Ty and the girls to the Cedar City parade. I think they all had a lot of fun. The girls would run out and get candy and Ty loved the army tank, motorcycle and the fire trucks. We love going to the parade and it has become one of our favorite family traditions.

After the parade my sister Janara and her family got here from Santaquin and we had an awesome BBQ on the driveway and caught up on things. We decided to go to Brianhead to see the fireworks because Jeramy and Janara have never been. We found a great spot on the hillside and we ate a ton of candy and pizza. We love having Janara and her family here. We don't get to see them as often as we would like.
